Translink Corporate Finance acted as the advisor to GGW Group on the acquisition of Cogesa.
Translink Corporate Finance in Spain advised GGW Group, an insurance broker company, on the acquisition of Cogesa. Founded in 2020 and led by Tobias Warweg, GGW Group is headquartered in Hamburg and operates across a dozen countries. The holding manages a premium volume of nearly €2 billion, employing a global workforce of 1,800 people.
Its first move in Spain involved integrating Cogesa (Comercial Gestora Correduría de Seguros), a Barcelona-based brokerage firm with over a century of history. Headed by Carlos Galcerán, Cogesa primarily serves corporate clients, employs around 30 people, and generates over €3 million in annual revenue.
GGW Group to expand in the Spanish Market
GGW Group aims to expand in the Spanish market by acquiring at least ten additional firms, focusing on brokerages that cater to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The group’s goal is to become one of the top three independent insurance brokerage groups in Spain and Portugal.
The Leading Brokers United model is described as “federal,” allowing brokerages integrated into GGW to maintain their autonomy and identity. They also become shareholders in the holding and benefit from the strength of its platform.
